There are voluminous forces that work on the pelvic floor in females. Lifting, laughing, sneezing, coughing and having babies: all have the effect of exerting descending pressure on the floor of the pelvis and in some females, these results in symptomatic glitches such as urinary incontinence. These syndromes are referred to as pelvic floor complaints or as ailments of pelvic support. These maladies take account of prolapsed uterus (dropped uterus), urinary stress incontinence (urinary leakage), cystocele (dropped bladder), rectocele (protruding of the back wall of the vagina), enterocele (a kind of internal hernia) and vaginal vault prolapse (plunged vagina after hysterectomy).
Uterine prolapse
While this can befall at virtually any age, it is more common in the 40’s and 50’s and even further than that, after having had kids and often after menopause. Uterine prolapse at times causes no symptoms until it is severe to a certain extent, but can cause pressure and uneasiness. If the uterus is inflamed for any reason, it is even more to be expected to cause pressure symptoms as it drips lower. This pressure might be felt in the lower belly, in the rectal region, on the bladder, or on the lower vagina. In extreme circumstances, the uterus can project entirely outside of the vagina such that the vagina is almost turned back-to-front.
